Using a flower pot and a sledgehammer, Pastor Derek shows the pain that Christ suffered before He uttered His last words: “It is finished” and “Into your hands I commit my Spirit.”
In this message, Pastor Derek examines the importance of the 2 seemingly simple words Jesus spoke on the cross: “I thirst.”
Beginning with Jesus’ words of anguish, Pastor Derek looks at the questions we face, as well as what Christ did while hanging on the cross.
Pastor Derek teaches from John 19 and looks at how we as the church need to be a community, in the same manner as Jesus gave His mother to be cared for by His beloved disciple.
In part 2 of the Words from the Cross series, Pastor Derek examines the words of comfort Jesus spoke to a dying criminal.
In the first message for the Words from the Cross series, Pastor Derek preaches on the first words-words of forgiveness-that Jesus spoke while on the cross. Note: The video mentioned at 30 minutes, 53 seconds, can be found at the following link- http://www.vimeo.com/20986640
