Sunday, July 20th, 2008

Philippians 3:12-20-21

Joy in the Journey: Week 5 > Dogs & Dung

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

Philippians 3:1-11
You cannot experience joy in the journey if you are running with the dogs knee-high in dung. The dogs of self-righteous religion and the dung of egocentric accomplishments and pedigree are obstacles to real faith in Jesus. True and lasting joy comes from a relationship with the Triune God, right standing with God the Father through Jesus by the Holy Spirit.

Joy in the Journey: Week 3 > Humility & Jesus

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

Philippians 2:1-11
In his friendship letter, Paul encourages the church in Philippi to keep unity in the community. In this message, Pastor Derek discusses ten unity killers and the one remedy — humility. Jesus is our example of humility as seen in his incarnation and ultimate exaltation. Because of his humility, God exalted Jesus and gave him a name which is above every name. Every Christian needs an exalted Jesus, a big Jesus in their lives.
